WATCH | Building a knowledge-based movement

"The contempt shown to working-class people living in informal settlements, shows a broken state and a broken Parliament." - Zackie Achmat

The Zackie2024 campaign aims to bring the voices of hard-working, long-suffering South Africans into Parliament, by holding the State and MPs accountable.

One of the ways in which we aim to reclaim parliament is to educate and organise people so that they can advocate for their interests. We do this building a knowledge-based movement and through support activist forums that tackling particular challenges.

On 23 January 2024 Zackie Achmat engaged with the Khayelitsha Activist Forum to discuss the pressing issues residents here face.
